Will you ship the GoRide internationally? Does the GoRide support any other devices? Why do I need my iPhone attached to my bike? The GoRide also allows you to utilize really cool iPhone bike apps such as iMapMyRide, and EveryTrail, which enable you to map out your rides on the fly and track your progress using 3D GPS satellite topography maps that show your progress over mountains and through city streets. There are also plenty of other really cool apps available such as B.iCycle, BikePower, Cychosis, Bike Your Drive, TrailBlazer, Trails, and MotionX-GPS.
Also, the iPhone mounted on your bike looks really cool! What kind of bikes fit the GoRide? How is the base attached to the bike? Where on my bike can the base be attached? How easy is it to attach and detach my iPhone to the base? Is the iPhone mounted vertically or horizontally on the bike? Can I listen to music while riding my bike? Can I use my GoRide with other equipment? Will my iPhone be protected from the rain? How long do iPhone batteries last?
A) For individual orders, we are not shipping outside of the US at this time. We are working with our fulfillment company to expand internationally.
A) At this time, we only support the iPhone 3G/3GS but we would love to hear your suggestions about what other devices you would like the GoRide to support. Send us an e-mail to support@bicio.com.
A) Safety is one of the main reasons it is wise to have your iPhone with you out on the road or trails in case something happens and you need to call for help, and it is much more convenient and comfortable to have it attached to your bike rather than it being stuffed in your sweaty pocket. Having it on your bike in full view will also eliminate missed calls and text messages from the people in your life who may need to urgently get in touch with you.
A) We designed the GoRide to fit on all kinds of bikes—road bikes, mountain bikes, TT/Tri bikes, cross bikes, indoor bicycle trainers, etc. If the base doesn't fit your bike, we will give you your money back.
A) The base is attached with cable ties, which is similar to how other bike computers are mounted.
A) The base can be attached pretty much anywhere you want—the handlebars, stem, top tube, and even the seat tube. Attaching the base is simple and only takes a couple of minutes.
A) The iPhone snaps right into the base and snaps right out, so you can easily mount it and ride away, and when your ride is over you can just grab it and go.
A) You can mount it vertically or horizontally. If you want to switch to one or the other, simply rotate the base and reattach the cable ties.
A) Although we don't recommend listening to music while you ride, you can do so while your iPhone is mounted. If you do listen to music during your ride, please only put the earpiece in ONLY ONE EAR, (the earpiece should go in the ear that faces away from traffic, usually your right).
A) Absolutely. The GoRide easily attaches to jogger strollers, indoor bicycle trainers, and other cardio equipment in your gym.
A) Unfortunately the current version of the GoRide will not protect your iPhone from rain. However, the case is very strong if you should drop your phone.
A)
With a 3G iPhone (16GB) with the GPS active using iMapMyRide and the 3G turned off, no music playing, and the screen locked for most of the trip, there was 25% battery life remaining after a trip of 3 hours and 20 minutes.
With the new 3GS iPhone (32GB) with 3G at one, music playing, and the GPS active using iMapMyRide and the screen locked for most of the trip, there was 30% of battery life remaining after a trip of 3 hours and 5 minutes.
So, it is reasonable to expect approximately five hours of battery life, but again this depends on which iPhone you have and what kind of condition it is in.
